Yep, that’s me! I was born in 1970 and grew up with a lot of curiosity in science. After dabbling with chemistry and electronics, I developed a deep passion for computers at age 14 and, a few years later, consequently graduated in computer science.
After starting as a freelance IT professional, I worked as an IT team lead at the german web portal WEB.DE and later as Head of IT Core Services at 1&1. In 2010, I founded freistil IT, a provider of high-performance IT infrastructure services. Since freistil IT is a distributed company, I (like everyone on the team) enjoy being able to work where ever I can be the most productive.
My love for keyboards even extends to my hobbies: I like playing piano and organ.
Carolin was born in 1980. She likes to travel and get to know other cultures, so it fits that she studied ethnology and history at Freiburg University (Germany), Basel University (Switzerland) and Trinity College (Ireland). She’s also a hobby violinist and loves plants.
Our lovely daughter Amalia. The amount of pictures she draws might get us in trouble with Greenpeace.
Richard was just a few months old when we moved, so he learned to tell me “No, daddy!” in two languages right from the start.
